Bellingham Dojo History

Share

The Bellingham Shotokan Karate Club began on Novemeber 1, 2005 when Eric Henry was approached by a friend interested in having her son learn martial arts.  The practice was held in Eric Henry’s backyard.  As the weather turned colder and wetter, it became necessary to find a place indoors to practice.  The first dojo space was in the basement of Zervas Architects on Prospect Street in Bellingham.  After a few years, the dojo moved to Beyond Limits Yoga until they sold the business and we moved to Birch Bay and became Birch Bay Shotokan. Now we’re back in Bellingham again, where we plan to stay.
